Passion

A great deal of meaning is squeezed into this 7-letter word- 'passion'.

Passion is nothing but the intensity with which you pursue your dreams. Your passion sets you apart from the rest! Nothing in life defines us more than how passionately we chase our dreams. It is the most important ingredient of success.

Life today is pretty much equated with a ‘rat race’. However, the crux of this race is not beating your competitors, but fighting your own battle; being passionate about your dreams! There is nothing more powerful than a human soul on fire. You know what you are, but you don’t know what you can become. Passion makes you realize that. It adds meaning to your life.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said: if you are a street sweeper, so be it. Clean your street so well that others are forced to acknowledge,” Here lived a street sweeper who did his job well”. Dignity of labor does not bind passion. What matters is the intensity with which you wish to achieve a certain feat. Anything worth doing is worth doing passionately. Without a passionate approach, you can never be happy and successful.

Passion is all about chasing your dreams with vigour. Nothing great will ever be achieved without enthusiasm. The god of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar did not become a heartthrob overnight. When kids his age were busy indulging, young Sachin was practicing day in and day out at the nets. His passion for the game and his perseverance made him what he is today. Take the example of J.K. Rowling. She is the world’s first billionaire author. Few would know that she was named a failure by her colleagues when she took up writing. Rejection is all she got. But failure taught her to stop pretending and pursuing what mattered most to her-writing!

Failure is not when you don’t reach your goals; it is when you don’t have any goals to reach. Many of us aspire to be something in life. But do we stick to our dreams? Do we always chase our dreams passionately?  In 1970, Bruce Lee wrote a letter to himself saying that he would be the best Oriental actor in the world and would earn $10 million by 1980. However, Bruce Lee died in 1973, have surpassed all that he had planned; much before the deadline in his letter!! THIS is what passion is all about! It can do wonders…

‘Success is never final, just like failure is never fatal’. Your drive for success will help you achieve your goals. But don’t stagnate when you reach the top! If your passion is passionate enough, it will leave you asking for more. Similarly, failures are inevitable in the quest for success. Don’t be afraid of them. Take them in your stride. In trying times, never stop trying! Remember what you stand for; follow your passion. The world is out there waiting for you, and believe me; if your will is strong enough, sky is the limit for your flight of glory!!

Nelson Mandela- “There is no passion to be found in playing small- in settling for the life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

Slang of the Day!  - Sick

On most occasions we have heard people saying " Are you sick today ? " While colloquially we all understand what the other person is trying to say but many of us don't know the real meaning of the term.

Sick is supposed to be used as an expression of disgust. But mostly people use it to inquire about your health.
The correct usage of the term becomes extremely important because your boss isn't sick (or could be) but he certainly can be ill.

Caution: You can use sick to show your disgust towards anything. For Example: Sick Wife, Sick Life. Oops.
