Think Too Much, Leave Out Much More

You go to Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, wherever, look at a t-shirt, shirt, pair of pants/dress which has been amazingly appealing to you [which you had already chosen to buy before but, as you would all know, Indians are not "IMPULSIVE" buyers], then your eyes fall upon another new, attractive piece of cloth, then another one which dominates the previous one, then you have a look at price tag and you go, "never mind" :p even though dad's there to pay the bill. You go to a restaurant, look at the price of tea and reminisce that the last time you had an entire meal for the same cost. You go to a particular website to download your favorite movie, and realize there are too many options to choose from. You think, ponder over, surf more, which one has the best quality, which one is the perfect size and keep thinking, ultimately you have done nothing except that you have lost a lot of time and you are back to square one. The Man Who Ruled

So, its starts a week ago. All and sundry is worried about that one ailing person. And then came the end. Of Balasaheb Thackeray. We drive past a traffic signal when it is still red and we apparently have a convincing reason for it. We choose something over the other, and we have a persuasive reason for that too. This kind of defense mechanism is known as rationalization. Rationalization is of two types- 'Sour Grape Rationalization' and 'Sweet Lime Rationalization'. I refuse to go dining at a pizzeria. And the reason I give? I hate pizzas (Which certainly is a lie). They're not good for health at all; I would rather have my mum's home-cooked food, I say. This may seem convincing enough but the real reason behind my refusal is that I'm broke. But do I let the cat out of the box? Of course not. This behaviour, where one devalues what they don't possess, is called 'Sour Grape Rationalization'. While we are on the topic let me add tha
