A Tale of Few States: Tamil Nadu

A Tale of Few States: Tamil Nadu   In my view many people of the state of Tamil Nadu suffer from some of these problems: a) Attraction towards cinema and small screen celebrities, being unable or having no desire to distinguish between real and reel is one important worry. Most people are easily deceived by this and become blind followers, treating them as super humans and even as God. b) Another important problem is lack of awareness and fear which leads to not questioning the authorities of  their mistakes and omissions. c) And finally, the inferiority complex in communicating in other languages and in comparision to skin colour.   And now the postive side:   1) Law abiding people 2) Good in welcoming ousiders 3) Sympathetic towards others sufferings 4) Good at adapting to modern technology  -RC Chitakara

TALE OF FEW STATES : KERALA

KER ALA is a state that has the highest literacy rate of women. But there are some major problems faced by the Keralites. Here are the problems they face:- 1. Job opportunities are very less despite being a state of high literacy. People should cater to jobs Pan India as opposed to jobs just in Kerala. They should travel for their better future. 2. intercaste marriage issues The people should be more accepting rather than following their own norms. Brain washing seminars should be conducted. 3. 2nd most unsafe state for women with 20.92 rate of assault on women as of 2012 Women should be taught self defence and boys should be taught to respect girls. 4. Freedom of girls Girls are not allowed out after 8/9pm. There is no use confining them inside. They should be taught how to take care of themselves. 5.Transportation facilities Proper measures should be taken to improve the qualities of transport system and roads.  Cou rsty : Rotaract c lub of Ahm

A Tale of Few States: Jammu & Kashmir

A Tale of Few States: Jammu & Kashmir Ordinarily, it should wrench anyone’s heart to watch people fall to bullets. But, sadly, it does not – Kashmiris don’t lament the soldiers who die at their hands. Nor does a large section of India mourn the killing of boys throwing stones at security forces. The same section of Indians certainly celebrates the mowing down of terrorists, whom Kashmiris describe as freedom fighters. Underlying the contrasting responses is an explanation which no one wishes to admit, but perhaps everyone is aware of. It could be stated thus: There will never be a solution to the Kashmir problem. Nor will it have peace. Not, at least, in the “foreseeable future” – a euphemism for “our lifetime”. The pathology: This is because the idea of nation-state runs so deep in us South Asians that it has become pathological. We cannot contemplate the shrinking of our territory, as none of the other South Asian countries can either, unless, obvi

A Tale Of Few States : BIHAR

"Bihar is not merely India's poorest state; it is also its most corrupt, violent and lawless state," Steven R Weisman of the New York Times wrote in 1987. Almost three decades later, little of that statement seems to have changed. Here are a few problems currently being faced by Bihar : 1. Corruption and Crime  Bihar is a criminalised nexus of Jungle-raj and is responsible for illegal activities to be committed in a sustained fashion and sometimes openly, and mostly with the use of violent intimidation. But, India's third-most-populous state, with the country's poorest people - has a crime rate lower than more prosperous states with fewer people, such as Gujarat, Kerala, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, an IndiaSpend analysis of national crime data reveled. The only problem is, this idea is difficult to back with facts. The numbers don't lie, bet they can be manipulated. 2. Shortage of Electricity Situation of power availability in Bihar was nev

Post 5: Say Something Challenge  Is it an itch to accept challenges? Or is it an abundance of time due to procrastination? Can mere access to the internet be enough reason? Which one is it really, that compels us to try the most meaningless and unproductive ‘challenges’ and then to wilfully embarrass ourselves by letting numerous others witness our stupidity by putting it on social media? The ‘Say Anything Challenge’ is taking over the internet by its apparent simplicity and well, the herd mentality. All you need is two sets of tongues and brains and you’re good to go. The rule of this challenge is singular: Say a word when it is your turn and don’t repeat. The word doesn’t need to be correlated to your previous word or to the one the other person just said. It’s just random words and no waiting to think them. The catch? You get to stick a piece of tape on the face of the person who stutters and stumbles over a word or repeats it. Fun, right? Warnings: Sticking t

#100HappyDaysChallenge     As we grow up, we have been constantly told to embrace the little joys that life brings us, to live every passing moment to the fullest and to find contentment in the tiniest of acts.  Happiness. One emotion, hundreds of feelings.  Only until this beautiful amalgamation of hysterics was given in the hands of social media to be metamorphosed into a materialistic craving.  After meandering through the obscure trends of social media, you will surely have your definition of happiness altered. Amongst the various other imbecile challenges flooding facebook and instagram, the #100HappyDays challenge seemed to be quite famous. Though this challenge was initiated with the sole purpose of ‘finding happiness in little things’, it gradually transcended into swanking about ‘little things’.                                Uploading pictures of things that make you happy for 100 days in a row, may

Post 3 : The 100 layers challenge  The 100 Layers of Stupidity Challenge Over the past few months, the internet has been obsessed with the 100 Layers Challenge which started harmlessly enough in the form of #polishmountain by youtuber Simply Nailogical. But the internet is an attention-seeking leech churning out dumb videos in the hopes of going viral and this challenge did just that. From makeup layers to glitter to wax, this challenge went all out. After 100 layers of highlight and foundation: Mt. Everest move aside there’s a new mountain in town. #polishmountain :P And if goopy, sticky mess of furry lashes, caked-on foundation and problematic fake tan isn’t your thing try eating 100 pieces of gum or drinking 100 bottles of booze. Even the Nyan Cat video is better than this challenge and that’s saying something.                Internet is like:         *cringe*                   Claustrophobia in a nutshell :/                The challenge which takes

Post 2 : THE CONDOM CHALLENGE   It’s the 21 st century, the golden age of the internet, memes and ridiculous challenges. The oh-so-wonderful generation where human stupidity reaches its peak. Bring teenagers, the internet, hormones and anything remotely sexual and what do you get? The Condom Challenge. In stark contrast to its name, if you ask me, the player of the challenge ends up looking like an over-grown foetus.                                                       ‘Now what exactly is this “Condom Challenge”?’ you ask. Well basically, one person drops a water-filled condom onto the head of another person. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? ‘So, what’s the point of it?’ you ask again. Well, maybe to make people realise how easily a condom can tear (that’s right kids, abstinence is the way to go!)   Or maybe to raise awareness on how important a condom is. Honestly, I think people just needed another reason to play with condoms. So, since when did condoms go from b

Post 1 : The one and the only - ICE BUCKET CHALENGE Being a millennial, the internet rules our lives. There are sayings like “The internet never forgives” or “The internet is all that is just”.  But come on! As I see it, stupidity is that one tiny bug which can slowly make it’s way on to anything - even the UNFORGIVABLE EVER-SUPREME INTERNET.  And talking about stupidity online, the first thing that pops in my mind is this - Feeling nostalgic? Yeah me too! These, and thousands of such videos exist on the internet as “The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge”. The rules are simple - Drop a bucket full of ice water on your head within 24 hours or make a financial donation, after which, you can elect someone else to do it.  And everyone, literally everyone who is even remotely on social media - from celebrities to school-teachers, accepted this challenge.  And suddenly, it became the "next in-thing".  “Hey bro, did you do the Ice bucket challenge?” “No bro, n
