Uncharted Television Facts: #2 FRIENDS

 FRIENDS

September 22, 1994.
The beginning of a new era.

They were busy rehearsing their dialogues to showcase their talents. Little did they know how their words scripted history.
The perfect amalgamation of humour, intimacy, fervour and naïve attitude of mature adults was found within 30 minutes.
They meticulously nurtured the relations of love and friendship. While Monica and Chandler's unconditional love gave us relationship goals, the constant juggling from lovers to friends, between Ross and Rachel left us in enigma, throughout. (can’t evade mentioning, “THEY WERE ON A BREAK!”)

The ineluctable sarcasm of Chandler Bing; the cleanliness aficionado, Monica Geller; the epitome of vogue, Rachel Greene; the unsophisticated, nerdy palaeontologist Ross Geller; the carefree yet caring Phoebe Buffay; and the one who redefined the meaning of true friendship, Joey Tribbiani. Undoubtedly, they have all left an indelible mark in our hearts and have managed to upsurge a laughter even though one watches the episode for the 100thtime.

So to all those madly in love with the F.RI.E.N.D.S, here’s bringing to you some of the unknown, mindboggling facts from your favourite sitcom!

Friends uncut-
1.       The episodes were shot in front of a live audience and the actors believed that it acted as a test for their jokes and elevated their spirits.

2.       Many people, including Lisa Kudrow, thought that Chandler was gay. During the first few seasons of the show, many fans speculated about Chandler’s sexual orientation.

3.       The apartment numbers switched during the series. At the beginning of the series, Monica’s door had the number 5 on it. The producers later realized that didn’t make sense as Monica lived on a higher floor. They changed her apartment number to 20. The number on Chandler’s apartment changed as well—from 4 to 19.

4.       While there isn’t an actual Central Perk in New York City, the fictional café has inspired some real ones.

5.       Matthew Perry struggled with addiction during production.  In 1997, Perry went to rehab for an addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol.

6.        Their characters may have, but the actors didn’t always play well with animals. It was widely publicized that Kudrow was afraid of the duck who made an appearance in season three.

7.       For the opening credits in “The One After Vegas,” everyone was given the last name “Arquette.” It was also the first episode after Courteney Cox married David Arquette.

8.       Lisa Kudrow hated playing guitar at first.

Yes, these facts have left us all in bewilderment. Next time you watch a random episode of friends while sipping on a cup of coffee or taking a break from studies, these facts shall surely change your perspective.
