Nasty Battle #5 - Eminen Vs Tupac

Everyone who is into rap has definitely heard these 2 names, but the age old question has always been who is the better out of the two, sure people will say that Pac is dead and it’s not fair comparing him with Slim Shady but let’s just get on with it.

Will the Real Slim Shady Please Stand Up:
Everyone who is a true fan of Eminem (or as some people prefer to call him, ‘Slim Shady’) knows that his first album was the Slim Shady LP, and that the way that this Angry White Blond Haired rapper made people notice his presence in the world of rap was with his hit single “My Name Is”. Since then this man has come to win 331 awards out of which 13 are Grammies and one is an Oscar for his award winning performance in his film 8Mile. All his albums have gone to platinum and been in the top 5 of the billboard, a truly phenomenal achievement in the field of music.
However as popular as Eminem is for his music he is equally well known for his notoriety. The fact is that Eminem has shot insults at almost every single celebrity there is, whether it is Michael Jackson, Iggy Azalea or even Rihanna! None has been spared by Eminem’s wrath.

He uses so much slang that at a point in time people gave him the name Eminef (XD). He has been through a lot, and has literally climbed up from being a boy whose mother was a drug addict to becoming one of the greatest rappers of all time. His recent albums have, however, not been as amazing as they were before. Believe me, he still does an amazing job with his album but all of his fans seriously do miss the old Slim Shady.

What makes Eminem a lyrical genius is his ability to rhyme almost any word. His amazing vocabulary comes from the fact that he used to read the dictionary as a child! Yes! So mind you, however much he may seem like a slang-addict, don’t you mistaken it for his lack of ability to churn out ‘suave’ words. His superior vocabulary can shame even the noted linguists! (let alone other rappers).

Makaveli and his thug life:

Makaveli (or Tupac) has been one of the greatest rappers of all time. He is a really amazing rapper and his contribution to the genre has been nothing less than substantial. Tupac’s music isn’t the only most-talked-about thing, his death, by far, has been one of the most controversial deaths of all time! He was shot on September 7, 1996 and died (supposedly) on September 13, 1996, six days later.

The way he was carried to the hospital has 3 different stories the first one being an ambulance coming and taking him, the second one being a chopper coming and taking him and the third being his bodyguard, Suge Knight, taking him to the hospital. Plus there are many reports saying that his autopsy was fake, and that the picture of his autopsy was a modified picture taken from a still in his video ‘California Love’. These are just speculations. The most unnerving things are his sightings after his death, but the most preposterous thing I’ve heard by far, is the rumour that he is hiding in a cave in Cuba.

Leaving all that aside, this man rapped about injustice in society. And as we can guess, he was hated by the Feds for the truth he conveyed through his rhymes. His murder is still an unsolved mystery (try connecting the dots, if you will).
His flow and vast vocabulary is what made him special. It’s said that he was the best rapper in his school, which is when he honed his rhyming skills as a child. This man, ever since, had been on a upward journey, for by the 1960s he was considered the best rapper in the world!

The Verdict: This battle has been going on for a long time but both the rappers have contributed to the genre in immense ways. Both are special in their own way, on one hand we have Eminem who brought and shared his personal life, pains and struggles to the people around the world. On the other hand we have Tupac who spoke up against the injustice in society and spoke up even when the government tried to stop him. Both are lyrically outstanding and I am sorry to say this, but this argument has no clear victor and this is a shout out to all ‘Stans’ and Tupac fans, please stop fighting over who is better and instead enjoy the greatest music to have ever been created with one another. I could keep going on and on but I guess it’s wise to stop here, Peace out.
