Challenge Accepted

Post 1 : The one and the only - ICE BUCKET CHALENGE

Being a millennial, the internet rules our lives. There are sayings like “The internet never forgives” or “The internet is all that is just”.

But come on! As I see it, stupidity is that one tiny bug which can slowly make it’s way on to anything - even the UNFORGIVABLE EVER-SUPREME INTERNET.

And talking about stupidity online, the first thing that pops in my mind is this -

Feeling nostalgic? Yeah me too! These, and thousands of such videos exist on the internet as “The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge”. The rules are simple - Drop a bucket full of ice water on your head within 24 hours or make a financial donation, after which, you can elect someone else to do it.
And everyone, literally everyone who is even remotely on social media - from celebrities to school-teachers, accepted this challenge.

And suddenly, it became the "next in-thing".

“Hey bro, did you do the Ice bucket challenge?”
“No bro, nominate me naa.”
“Such a loser bro”

Conversations like these became very common.

“Heyyy, do you know I got nominated by 15 people! How many did you get?”
“Um, 2”
“Oh, how sad!”

Not to forget,

“Did you see how hot she looked bro, with that icy water?”

“Hey, did you see his abs?”

“Haha, yes she looked like a pathetic fool.”

Oh the irony!

But yeah, why would you even stop with such challenges? You have access to an abundance of water. You have access to the internet. A new social media trend just came in and you have to get those 1859 people be impressed by your noble and kind heart. Your brains have lost all their basic common sense. You want to save money. And most likely you don’t have a single clue of what ALS even means. Hence you pour a bucket full of stupidity on your head. Please like it, share it and comment.

But while it looks narcissist, idiotic and promotes wastage of water, it actually raised, wait for it, $100m for the research on ALS. Yes, so not so completely worthless after all. All hail the internet!
