Beyond Bond

Say the name ‘spy’ and one name pops in mind; James Bond.  Of course, he is the most popular fictional spy character. In fact, statistics dictate that around 75% of the world’s population has seen at least one bond movie. Woah now that’s some talking.

But, there’s one man, not a mainstream spy, but something above it. He is a wander- a nomad who has no permanent address and no desire to get one. He likes to roam the country going wherever he chooses. He has an ATM card and the clothes on his back. When he needs more money, he finds a temporary job. When his clothes get dirty, he washes them a time or two and then goes into a discount store for new ones.

Presenting to you, 6 ft 5 tall and 250lbs strong: Jack Reacher.  As the girls define him: His muscles are like dozens of walnuts stuffed in one condom. Some of you may recognize him from his Tom Cruise movie of the same name, but then, he is way better than that. Similarities with Bond are many; Infatuation for hot Co- partners, reckless use of  resources but what makes him better is his intense critical thinking.

He is probably the best warriors the US army has ever produced.
A former Major , Reacher roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations. His wide experience defines him. He is a simple man,  unlike Bond, with simple needs and the passion to win at all times.

Lee Child (the author) has made one the most amazing spy related fictional character of all time.  I have read many, many series over the years and there has never been anyone to beat the enjoyment that this guy has provided me.

The only problem? He is underrated,  HIGHLY UNDERRATED.

Think my praise is too high?, Well,  go on, read his books and you’ll discover for yourself. 007 stands a rookie in front of him.
