If we were meant to stay at one place, we would have had roots instead of feet. Nothing is as liberating as a solo trip —tranquil yet adventurous.
The history of travelling shows immense progress. Begining with travel for food and livelihood, that urge was slowly overcome by an unknown impulse of curiosity. Travel dates back to antiquity — from the wealthy leisure trips of the Greeks and the Romans, to the business trips of merchants. In fact, Earth wouldn't be as evolved and widespread as it is today, if it wasn't for this impulse of travelling. Travelling made the passage and circulation of art, religion and science possible .
Travelling is a passion for some who wish to break the monotony. It's a way of adding spice to our boring routine. It is to rinse out the bitter taste of life; because in the end, you won't remember the hours spent in office but the addictive smell of the mountains. We long for that soft wet smell of the hills and salty vibes of the seas. It motivates us to keep hustling through the tough times, for when it's all over we'll find peace in some unknown land and rejoice all over again.
The pages of a passport  narrate stories that even books fail to deliver. An avid traveller finds tranquility in venturing out of his comfort zone. The urge to travel feels magnetic. Travelling whets emotions, turns upside down the memory bank and makes the golden coins scatter. In the words of Christopher Columbus: ‘You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose the sight of the shore.’
Travelling is living every tiny bit of a journey which is jam-packed with unexpected twists and turns. It teaches us that taking the risk and crossing that bridge of fear multiplies the feeling of victory.
Travelling elucidates the three F's — Friends that you meet along the way, Food that you eat along with them, and the Fun that you have along the journey. By opening our mind to unfamiliarity, one is able to grow in ways unachievable by any other methods. It instills courage to thrive and hope for a better experience someday.
Travelling gives you home in thousand strange places and then leaves you a stranger in your own land. Exploring diverse regions,  we eventually discover our likes and dislikes. It helps us to look inside out our soul and discover our true selves. We travel not to escape life but so that life doesn't escape us.
