Batu Caves, complex limestone grottoes in Peninsular Malaysia. The caves are one of the Malaysia’s biggest tourist attractions and a place of pilgrimage for Tamil Hindus. They are named for the Sungai Batu (Batu River), which flows nearby, and are located 7 miles (13km) north of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
The caves were little known except to local residents 1878, when the American naturalist William Hornaday revealed their existence to the wider world. K. Thamboosamy Pillai, a leader of the Tamil Hindu community in Malaya (as the region was then called), built a temple within the caves in 1891. It is said he took inspiration from the similarity in shape of the cave entrance to the tip of the “vel”, or spear, traditionally wielded by the deity Lord Murugan. Thaipusam, the Tamil Hindu festival devoted to Lord Murugan, was first celebrated on the site in 1892 and is now a major event that attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims annually.
The Batu Caves are located within a high limestone outcropping. A colossal gold painted statue of Lord Murugan, made from reinforced concrete and 140 feet (42.7 metres) in height, stands near the base of a flight of 272 steps. At the top of the steps is the entrance to the largest cave, called cathedral Cave or Temple Cave. Within it is the largest of several temples on the site. At a lower level on the flight of steps is Dark Cave, which is sometimes closed to visitors. Other caves lie still closer to the base of the steps. Ramayana Cave has an entrance marked with a statue of the Lord Hanuman, hero of the Indian epic poem Ramayana. The cave itself dioramas depicting scenes from the epic. The Cave Villa, which includes Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave, features more paintings and statues.

Brazil is the country of joy, celebration and revelry. From New Year's Eve in Copacabana to the street carnival in Olinda, Salvador or Rio de Janeiro, from the religious festivals of the Círio de Nazaré, in Belém, or Iemanjá, in Bahia, to the Juninas festivals or the amazing folkloric Festival of Parintins, in the heart of Amazonia, or even the The Oktoberfest of Blumenau, where the beer runs the Rodos, there is no shortage of reasons for the revelers to go to Brazil. And then there are cultural events of nominated, such as the unmissable biennial of arts of São Paulo.

Carnival
From the Sambadrome of Rio de Janeiro to the electric trios of Salvador da Bahia, passing by the popular street carnivals of Olinda and Ouro Preto, Carnival is the period of celebration par excellence throughout the Brazilian territory. An exuberant time, of very agito and some excesses, perfect for those who do not care for crowds and like to "take the foot off the ground". It is worth noting that the carnival in Brazil is one of the biggest popular events in the world and, as is natural, the prices of hostels and hotels in Brazil almost doubles at this time.

New Year
The passage of the year has always been a time of great revelry among Brazilians but, in recent years, has been taking unimaginable proportions. In the celebrations of New Year's Eve 2010/2011, for example, we gathered 2 million people on the sands of Copacabana Beach, which makes the new year of Rio de Janeiro in one of the most crowded street events on a planetary scale. New Year's celebrations are especially popular in coastal towns.

Festivals Juninas
Multicultural festivities, of a very popular nature, which take place in small towns in the north and northeast of Brazil. An open-air camp, "peasant" clothes and traditional sounds are indispensable ingredients of the June festivals (formerly known as Joaninas, São João) in localities such as Santo António de Jesus, Amargosa, Cruz das Almas, Piritiba and Lord of the Bonfim in Bahia, Aracaju in Sergipe; Caruaru in Pernambuco, Mossoró in Rio Grande do Norte, Campina Grande in Paraíba or Juazeiro do Norte in Ceará.

Parintins folkloric Festival
For three nights, in the last weekend of June, a place in the heart of Amazonia is on a big stage where two rival associations parade around Amazonian regional themes, in a show as spectacular as competitive. The revelers of the Guaranteed ox (red color) and the capricious Ox (blue color) – so called the two fundamental parts of the Festival of Parintins, or Boi-bumbá – Make the enormous «Bumbódromo» stage of a popular "war" having for weapons the music and plays around Of the indigenous rituals and customs, local legends and the life and culture of the forest peoples.

Círio de Nazaré
Held in the city of Belém for more than two centuries, the Círio de Nazaré is perhaps the largest Catholic procession in all of Brazil. It is a great tribute to Our Lady of Nazareth that runs through the streets of the capital of the state of Pará. The procession takes place on the second Sunday of October, between the Cathedral of Bethlehem and the Shrine of Nazareth Square, attracting about 2 million of the faithful.

Feast of Iemanjá
Annually, on Feb. 2, thousands of white people pay tribute to Iemanjá, the feminine orixá of lakes, seas and fertility – also known as the "Queen of the Sea" – in a pagan procession that ends near the mouth of the Red River in Salvador da Bahia. There, offerings and tickets with various orders are thrown overboard.

Blumenau Oktoberfest
Inspired by the namesake party of Munich, Germany, the city of Blumenau, in the state of Santa Catarina organizes from 1984 to its own Oktoberfest. With a lot of music, dances and typical gastronomy, the feast preserves the traditions of German settlers – including costumes, cuisine and beer – that 160 years ago emigrated to the region. It's 18 days of partying and lots of beer, always in October. In 2012 it takes place the I Oktoberfest of São Paulo.

São Paulo Biennial of Arts
The Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, welcomes the biennial of arts of São Paulo in two years, one of the most important contemporary art events on a planetary scale. In the year 2012 it takes place the 30th edition of the Biennial

Erta'Ale is a word for smoking mountain in the Afar language of Ethiopia. The Erta’Ale lava lake lies at the center of the Erta’Ale axial volcanic range in the northern part of the Afar depression. The summit of the Erta’Ale caldera is 1600m * 700m in dimension (Oppenheimer and Francis, 1997). The caldera wall is completely visible and it entirely covered by a homogeneous pile of sub horizontal basaltic lava flows and it is characterized by along-rim and across-rim structures, which result from the local and regional stress fields (Acocella, 2006). The flanks of the volcano are gently sloping and fresh, whereas the inner walls of the caldera form ~30-m-high cliff made of different layers of basalt lava (Miruth Hagos et al., 2016).The lava lakes of Erta’Ale have been erupting continuously since 1967 making it one of the world’s most active volcanic regions (Thurmond et al., 2006). According to Oppenheimer and Francis, (1997) one or more of the Erta’Ale lava lakes has probably existed for the last century. The volcano erupted many times since and killed hundreds of live stocks and forced evacuation of the local people. Persistent lava lake like Erta’Ale lava lake are connected to a deeper source region, the resupply of heat prevents continuous propagation of a solidification front downwards from the lake surface (Oppenheimer and Gezahegne Yirgu, 2002). Spampinato et al. (2008) imply that persistent lava lake such as Erta’Ale shows us the upper most part of an active magmatic system at surface. The longevity of the lava lake provides evidence for convective circulation between the lake and a deeper magma reservoir (Oppenheimer and Francis, 1997). Watson et al., (2004) suggest that different and large amount of gas can be produced from eruption of volcano (H2O, SO2, CO2, HCl, HF, and HS). According to Oppenheimer and Gezahegne Yirgu, (2002) the heat loss from Erta’Ale lava lake differ from 100-400 and 14-17 MW, respectively and it is supported by crystallization and drive convection between the lake and a deeper and larger magma reservoir. The Erta’Ale shield basalts along the rift axis are derived from a shallower magma chamber (Pagli, C et al., 2012; Miruth Hagos et al., 2010). Concurrent with the geodynamic setting of the area, the low frequency of effusive eruptions (beyond the lava lake pits) suggests that the volcanogrowth is mainly due to endogenous processes (magmatic intrusion) as suggested by Oppenheimer and Francis, (1997).

NY FAHALEOVANTENA

Independence has no reason at all to be
To assure the happiness of only a handful of beings;
But an independence that, without taking part,
Hear at each door, make taste the fruit.
Independence is not these debts and debts,
All these external loans that we always watch;
But the incessant efforts that, on our side,
Will release notes in the coming days of posterity.
Independence is not that we let settle,
instead of Malagasy, a foreign speaker ...
But an independence that will earn us the praise,
If our fathers, the language is brought to the
forefront.
Independence is not a fog deceives the eye
an ostentatious gesture and all varnish of pride;
But very modestly, to be like others,
To think together, discuss with him.
Independence is not this mirage
Who makes one believe in himself the only strong and
wise;
But the overall opinions that is looking in concert
a day of glory for the whole nation.
Independence is not that we let free course
To outside ideas to rule in broad daylight;
But an independence that generates joy
To hoist its values, to a place of choice.
Independence is not: looking for ovations
Neither the deceitful cheers that make braggart;
But an independence, dismissing boasters,
And showing sooner or later, patriots without
makeup.
Independence is not: that you, you eat,
While the mass will poke into the mud;
But an independence that can ensure
Let everyone have his share and be satisfied.
Independence is not that money galore
For the purchase of those who will carry you high;
But an independence, concerned with justice,
and who avoids the people the way of precipices.
Independence is not these lists of jobs
Who floods the waves, although many are false;
But Independence: Language of truth
Who speaks without complacency of reality.
That's all, in short, Independence, friend!
For which our fathers offered their lives,
Endured the prisons and the exile of their times,
Sacrifice their property and donate their blood.
But if Independence is such that we see it,
Became something where selfishness is king ...
So, without fear, stand up, defend the truth
Until the final triumph of the goal.
