I Am Malala

"One Child, One Teacher, One Book, One Pen can change the world" - Malala Yousafzai.

MDIO President Rtr. Rajesh Subramanian

With World Malala Day being celebrated on 12 July, the rotaractors from the Rotaract Club Of NM College interviewed the MDIO,Rtr. Rajesh Subramanian.

So what do you think is the role of Education in today's society, especially girl child education?

"The only tool for change is Education. Education is the fundamental rights for every Human being. Then why stop educating the Girl Child when this can be the actual solution for it(the problem). "

What is your vision regarding the education in his year 16-17?

"The solution to every problem can be addressed by Education. Hence, their Area of Focus for the Rotary 2016-17 will be around Literacy.

Being an information passing organization,The vision for this year is to create a great awareness on literacy within South Asian countries and motivate every district, rotaract clubs and Rotaractors to contribute towards Happy Schools, Back to School and Wash in School initiatives.

There will be a special focus on Girl education as the number of girl dropouts are more as compared to boys. If we want to achieve our Goal, then let us empower ourselves with the weapon of knowledge and let us shield ourselves with unity and togetherness.

We must work, not wait, not just the politicians and the world leaders.
We ALL need to contribute. Me.You.We. It is our duty.

So lets make a pledge to educate a student which is equal to empowering one."

Team RCNM thanks Rtr. Rajesh Subramanian for doing this interview for "I am Malala". We will be back with more.
