House of Horrors : Room 5
Room 5 : The Master Bedroom
The house that witnessed not one but
several gruesome murders almost had a happy vibe to it, now that 14 year old
Tessa was singing and dancing to her favourite songs all around the big, old
house. It had been two years since the bodies of Ben and Emily were found and a
year after the body of a young kid no one recognized or claimed was found. The
police closed the case arriving at the conclusion that the kid, an orphan, was
a victim of a horrible Halloween prank gone wrong. Poor, poor kid.
The house was abandoned for not too long
before it was wiped clean and put back on the market.
The way Tessa giggled and twirled in that
curse of a house, no one could ever tell it was a landmark of tragedy.
“Did you see our room, darling? I painted
it pastel blue just like you wanted” said 37 year old Ray as he walked up the
staircase, leading little Tessa to the master bedroom.
The master bedroom was quite spacious and
simple. All it had was a king size bed with white sheets and long white
curtains to cover the full length glass doors that led to the Victorian style
balcony.
The white sheets were soon creased with the
body weight of little Tessa being pushed by Ray who’s smile was as creepy as
every other paedophile.
The house gave Ray the chills but seeing
that Tessa wasn’t bothered like he was, he tried to ignore the sounds he
thought he heard.
Days passed by and he tried his best to
ignore the glimpses of people he thought he saw.
But one night, the night of 31st
October, a night kids like Tessa should be dressing up and enjoying candy, he
saw something he just couldn’t ignore.
He was in the bathroom, trying to shave
when he felt someone touch his shoulder. He looked behind to see the pale face
of a man- John. The temperature suddenly dropped and so did the shaving blade.
Ray rushed straight to the library,
convinced books like always would make him feel sane. Though, the sight of a
room full of sand didn’t help. Ray soon realized it was quicksand and while he
was struggling to not drown, the voices screaming “betrayal” and “revenge” were
growing louder.
Somehow, Ray managed to get out of there
and completely ignored the eyes of two little identical boys peeping out of the
dark room that was once a nursey.
He ignored their blood shot eyes and didn’t
wait long enough to see their deranged bodies.
He rushed straight to the bedroom. He shut
the door and his eyes. He took a deep breath and tried convincing himself that
he was hallucinating or it all was just a sick Halloween prank. The sight of
Tessa sprawled across the bed, smiling at him when he opened his eyes
definitely helped.
He laughed while cold sweat trickled down
his forehead. He approached the bed thinking that there would be a sweet end to
this nightmare of a night. He laughed earlier than he should have, for the
moment he lay his body on the bed, it was butchered by the knives rising from
under the bed.
The knives elevated his body, and the once
white sheets were now soaking red. He wasn’t dead yet; cockroaches are always
hard to kill. Suffering in pain, he saw people he didn’t know enter the room;
corpses he didn’t recognize approaching him. Bodies that were once human but
now didn’t have a single organ in them, neither a single drop of blood. They
were hungry, they were thirsty and most of all, they were wronged.
Among the faces of old James, Ben, Emily,
Tim, Sam, there was one face feasting on his organs he did recognize- it was
Tessa, it was the poor, poor kid.
